HOBONICHI
The new Hobonichi Techo 2027 models are now available: Original, Cousin, HON and Weeks. You can also look forward to the complete LUIBAN-curated 2027 lineup of covers and accessories – in addition to the models already available.
Hobonichi is a Japanese media and product company that emerged in the early 2000s from the creative circle of writer and director Shigesato Itoi. Internationally, Hobonichi is best known for the “Hobonichi Techo,” a carefully designed yearly planner that brings writing, thinking, and living together. The brand stands for a deeply human approach: everyday objects as tools for attention, reflection, and personal growth.
Paper & precision are at the core of Hobonichi products. A defining element is the ultra-thin yet remarkably durable Tomoe River paper, which offers an exceptional writing experience despite its low weight. Ink bleed-through is minimal, lines remain crisp, and pages stay flexible. Production takes place in Japan with a high level of technical care, ensuring each detail withstands daily use.
Products & systems focus primarily on planners, notebooks, and interchangeable covers that can be combined and adapted individually. The layout of the Hobonichi Techo is intentionally open: enough structure for organization, enough freedom for sketches, thoughts, and spontaneous notes. The collection is complemented by stationery and accessories that follow the same clear, restrained logic.
Philosophy & everyday use: Hobonichi understands planning not as control, but as companionship. The products are designed to support personal rhythms rather than dictate them. Instead of efficiency at all costs, the focus is on awareness, continuity, and the pleasure of daily writing. In a digital world, Hobonichi feels like a calm counterpoint – personal, thoughtful, and enduring.
