The Hobonichi Weeks MEGA Sneaker in Lime Green is a slim pocket planner in a long format – roughly the size of a long wallet, fitting easily into any jacket pocket. What's special about the MEGA edition: three times as many grid paper pages as the standard Weeks, printed on Tomoe River paper. The Lime Green cover colour is a fresh, vibrant green with high luminosity – clear and lively, without veering into neon territory.

• Soft paper cover (Sneaker series): The cover is made from sturdy paper rather than plastic or fabric – flexible enough to grip firmly and bend easily, yet robust enough for daily use on the go. The year and MEGA logo on the cover are printed in a handwritten style, giving the planner a deliberately casual character.
• 219 memo pages of grid paper (English edition): The MEGA offers three times as many note pages as the standard Weeks – plenty of space for spontaneous sketches, daily journal entries, lists or extensive notes, without having to hold back on usage.
• Tomoe River paper: Thin, cream-coloured and very light, with good ink stability. Fountain pen inks show pronounced shading and shimmer effects on Tomoe River. Drying time is longer than on conventional paper – a sheet of blotting paper helps when writing with wet inks or broad nibs.
• 3.55 mm grid paper: The dashed grid lines are finer than other Hobonichi formats and appear less dominant, which puts your handwriting at the forefront. The grid works well for structured layouts as well as for free drawing.
• Weekly page layout: Left page: weekdays Monday to Sunday with time divisions. Right page: blank grid paper for notes, drawings or supplementary planning. Each weekly view includes a quote from the Hobonichi web magazine.

Use & Tips

• Fountain pens & inks: Tomoe River paper is very sensitive to water-based ink – allow drying time, especially with broad nibs or heavily saturated ink colours. Quick-drying inks reduce the risk of smudging. White fountain pen ink adheres reliably to the smooth paper for accents.
• Gel and ballpoint pens: Oil-based ballpoint refills and quick-drying gel refills work smoothly on Tomoe River paper without waiting time. For left-handers using fountain pens, quick-drying inks are also recommended.
• Opening behaviour: The Weeks MEGA doesn't lay completely flat – rest your hand lightly on the page while writing and it will sit stably.
• Use as a bullet journal: The 219 memo pages provide ample space for a complete bullet journal system in addition to weekly planning – index, collections and monthly reviews can be set up in the back section.
• On the go: The format fits flat into jacket or coat pockets. The flexible paper cover allows the planner to be rolled or slipped into a bag without permanently warping.
• Decorating & sticking: Tomoe River paper takes thin washi tape well. Heavy stickers or thick paper inserts can cause the pages to wave slightly – thin materials work much better.

The English edition of the Weeks MEGA contains 219 memo pages of grid paper – four more than the Japanese edition, because the English bonus pages are structured differently. The week starts on Monday. The planner year of the English edition covers January 2027 through December 2027, with additional monthly views in the transition. The 3.55 mm grid with dashed lines is the finest in the Hobonichi lineup and creates a visually calm background on Tomoe River paper that brings out ink shading particularly well. Hobonichi uses thread-binding combined with adhesive – this makes the binding durable for a year of daily use, even when the planner is frequently opened and closed.
