The Anterique BP1 is a two-piece ballpoint pen in retro style from the 1960s – and this orange end section with gold accent forms the rear half of the pen. If you want to combine the grip section in a different colour or are looking for a replacement end piece, this matte, lightweight plastic component with its characteristic push button and golden clip is what you need. The refill and writing tip are contained exclusively in the grip section – the end piece is its counterpart.

Features

  • Modular two-piece system: The BP1 can be separated into grip section and end piece. This allows colour combinations from the entire BP1 range – orange end piece with transparent or burgundy grip section, for example.
  • Orange colour with gold accent: A warm, saturated orange with gleaming gold clip and push button – the colour combination is reminiscent of Japanese stationery designs from the late Shōwa era, functional yet vibrant.
  • Lightweight ABS plastic: The barrel is made from polished plastic: smooth, cool to the touch, with minimal weight. During long writing sessions, the light material ensures there's no fatigue from heavy pens.
  • Click mechanism in the end piece: The click mechanism is housed in the end piece and controls the extension and retraction of the refill in the grip section – a spring-controlled, satisfying click with no play.
  • Compatible with Mach Ball Ink: The Anterique refill uses oil-based low-viscosity ink that flows smoothly and is less prone to smudging than conventional oil-based ballpoint refill systems. The ink is water-resistant but not archival quality.

Use & Tips

  • Create your colour combination: The end piece can be combined with any Anterique BP1 grip section. Orange/Gold pairs particularly well with transparent or white grip sections – the contrast between warm orange and cool transparent creates a clear, light effect.
  • Replacement for a damaged end piece: If you've lost the end piece or the click mechanism no longer engages properly, you can restore your grip section to full working order with a new rear half.
  • Two end pieces, one grip section: With a second end piece, you can quickly switch between two colour variants – without having to buy a completely new pen.
  • Ink: The Anterique BP1 writes with oil-based Mach Ball ink in black, 0.5 mm. Fluid ink flow, smudge-resistant on most papers, not archival quality – ideal for notes, planner layouts and sketches, not suitable for documents requiring archival storage.

For Stationery Enthusiasts

The Anterique BP1 is manufactured in Japan and combines oil-based low-viscosity ink – "Mach Ball Ink" – with a precision-engineered ball and a built-in spring in the writing tip that regulates ink flow evenly. The result is a line that flows unusually consistently for an oil-based ballpoint refill: less pressure variation, less leakage when left sitting. If you appreciate the BP1 as an everyday pen and enjoy colour variations, the end piece range offers a straightforward way to carry the same pen in a new look.
