Anterique Ballpoint Pen Grip Section Dark Blue

The Anterique BP1 grip section in dark blue with gold accents is the front part of the two-piece BP1 ballpoint pen – it contains the ballpoint refill and thus forms the writing heart of the system. The lightweight ABS plastic housing sits narrow and smooth in the hand, and the matte dark blue tone has a restrained and calm appearance. The low-viscosity oil-based refill writes precisely and evenly with a 0.5 mm line width.

Special Features

• Low-viscosity oil-based refill (Mach Ball Ink): The ink flows significantly more fluidly than conventional ballpoint pen ink – the line comes without scratching, without smudging, with even blackness application. Especially on smooth, calendered paper, the handwriting shows clean and precise.
• Integrated spring in the refill system: The writing ball is spring-mounted, which controls ink flow and reliably prevents leaking – even in a pocket or writing pad.
• 0.5 mm ball point: For fine, legible handwriting even in small font sizes – ideal for planners, notebooks, or marginalia.
• Dark blue with gold ring: The deep blue tone of the plastic and the gold accent ring detail create a classic, calm color combination that recalls writing instruments from the 1960s.
• Part of a modular system: The grip section can be combined with an Anterique BP1 end section – creating the complete ballpoint pen. The refill sits in the grip section and is activated via the end section.
• Ink: Black oil-based ballpoint pen ink – not archival quality.

Application & Tips

• Daily writing: The low weight and compact length of approximately 142 mm make the grip section an uncomplicated everyday writer – for bullet journals, daily planners, or quick notes in the margin.
• Paper recommendation: On smooth, ink-resistant paper, the low-viscosity refill comes into its own – the line dries quickly and barely smudges.
• As a replacement part or color change: Those who own multiple BP1 end sections in different colors can combine them with the grip section in dark blue and thus create different looks.
• Refill replacement: The refill is replaceable; matching Anterique replacement refills (0.5 mm, oil-based, black) fit directly into the grip section.

For Ballpoint Pen Enthusiasts

The BP1 system by Anterique is based on an oil-based refill with extremely low viscosity – an approach that stands out clearly from conventional oil-based ballpoint pen refills, which often write thick and unevenly. The combination of low-viscosity ink and a precision-crafted 0.5 mm ball with spring mechanism allows controlled, even ink flow without the typical blotting or skipping. The result lies between a classic ballpoint pen and a gel pen: as fluid as gel, drying like oil.
