Uni-ball ZENTO Refill black (0.5 mm)

The uni-ball ZENTO Mine UBR-Z-05 is the replacement refill for Mitsubishi Uni's ZENTO single pens with 0.5mm tip. At its core is the specially developed ZENTO ink: a water-based pigment ink with POA surfactant (polyoxyalkylene), which acts like a cushion between the writing ball and paper, noticeably reducing writing resistance. The result is evenly flowing, smooth writing feel.

Special Features

• POA surfactant as friction buffer: The polyoxyalkylene in the ink dampens friction between the ball and paper. According to the manufacturer, writing resistance is reduced by approximately 40% compared to previous Uni products. The line becomes smooth and soft without losing precision.
• Water-based pigment ink: The black ZENTO ink dries quickly and delivers rich, high-contrast lettering.
• Low bleed-through tendency: Special attraction particles draw the ink together. This limits feathering of the line and bleed-through to the back, pleasant on lighter paper like Tomoe River.
• Perfect fit: The refill is developed for Mitsubishi Uni's ZENTO pens and fits both click and cap models of the series.
• Included: 1 refill in black, 0.5mm.

Application & Tips

• Daily note-taking and journaling: The 0.5mm tip is fine enough for tight lines in A5 planners and flows smoothly enough for several pages in a row.
• On fade-resistant paper: On smooth, calendered paper, the line remains particularly sharp and uniform.
• Tomoe River Paper: Tomoe River 52g and 68g are well-suited. Thanks to the low bleed-through tendency of ZENTO ink, the back remains clean, and the smooth surface lets the ball glide particularly easily.
• With highlighters: Water-based highlighters can lift the text. Let the ink dry thoroughly and test your markers on an inconspicuous spot first.
• Choose the right refill: Pay attention to the line width of your pen. For 0.38mm pens there is the UBR-Z-38, the multi-color models of the ZENTO series use their own refill (UBR-ZML).
