Lamy Ballpoint Pen Pico black

The Lamy Pico is a pocket pen made of metal with a matte black lacquered surface, compact enough for your trouser pocket, yet extends to regular pen length when fully deployed. The centerpiece is the dual-action push mechanism: a single push at the shaft end not only extends the refill but simultaneously unfolds the shaft to full writing length. Designed by Swiss designer Franco Clivio, manufactured in Germany.

Special Features

• Dual-action push mechanism: When activated, not only does the refill extend, but the shaft itself expands – from 93 mm transport length to 124 mm writing length. The result is a full-fledged ballpoint pen in your hand, no compromise in pocket format.
• Matte black lacquered surface: The shaft feels cool and velvety-matte, doesn't visibly collect fingerprints, and sits securely in your hand – without clip, without cap, without protruding parts.
• Anti-roll knob: The slightly raised Lamy logo on the side of the cylindrical shaft also serves as a roll stopper – prevents the pen-shaped body from rolling off the desk.
• Compactmine Lamy M22, line width M: The short refill specially developed for the Pico writes with a 0.6 mm line width and is document-proof. Line image uniform and dry, suitable for notes, signatures, and general use.
• Replaceable refill: The end cap at the bottom can be removed, the M22 refill can be replaced. Replacement refills are available separately.
• All-metal shaft: The body is made entirely of metal – robust against the mechanical stress of daily carry in pocket or case.

Application & Tips

• The Pico works best on smooth to medium-rough paper – the M22 refill flows particularly smoothly on calendered writing paper.
• For left-handers and those who write quickly: The ballpoint ink of the M22 dries immediately, no smudging when writing rapidly.
• As an EDC pen (Everyday Carry), the Pico is well-suited for notebooks in A6 or pocket format – the closed length of 93 mm fits in most book spine pockets and spiral bindings.
• If you're planning the Pico as a gift: The housing can be engraved – the smooth, matte black lacquered surface reproduces engravings clearly and with high contrast.
• When checking the refill after a longer break, a brief scratch on a test sheet is recommended – as with all ballpoint refills that have been unused for a long time.
