Kaweco Sport Mechanical Pencil Green (0.7 mm)

The Kaweco Sport mechanical pencil in green is a pocket pencil in the classic octagonal design of the 1930s – compact, no sharpening required, with precision push-button mechanism from Japan. The plastic body features a rich green colour that recalls vintage writing instruments from Kaweco's early era. At 11.5 cm in length, it fits easily into any trouser pocket and yet offers a comfortable grip for extended writing sessions.

Features

• Octagonal plastic body in green: The eight flat facets prevent the pencil from rolling and sit solidly in the hand – even during prolonged writing or drawing sessions.
• Precise push-button mechanism from Japan: A short press on the button advances the lead smoothly. No sharpening required, no interruption to your work.
• 0.7 mm lead with HB hardness grade: The line width sits between the fine 0.5 mm and the broad 1.0 mm format – ideal for legible handwriting and light sketches with crisp line definition.
• Golden logo cap and hot-foil stamping: The Kaweco signature on the body is executed in hot-foil stamping – a detail that reveals the design's origins in the pre-war era.
• Compact pocket format: 11.5 cm in the closed state – short enough for a shirt or trouser pocket, long enough for an ergonomically comfortable grip.
• Made in Germany: Kaweco manufactures the Classic Sport in Nuremberg, where the brand has been rooted for over 100 years.

Use & Tips

• Sketching and drawing: 0.7 mm HB produces a medium-strength, clearly visible line on smooth paper – suitable for concept sketches, layouts and quick graphics without the lead breaking easily under slight pressure.
• Handwritten notes: The line width is sufficient for clearly legible cursive writing; on smooth, ink-resistant paper the lead glides smoothly and leaves a uniform line without feathering.
• On the go and while travelling: The compact format and closed cap protect the lead even loose in your bag. Kaweco leather cases are a great complement, protecting the pencil from scratches.
• Replacement leads: Kaweco mechanical pencil leads in 0.7 mm HB are compatible and swap out quickly – a short press with the eraser end opens the lead magazine.
• Combination: Green as a body colour pairs well with natural-toned and olive-green notebooks as well as earthy desk accessories – for anyone who likes to colour-coordinate their desk setup.

For mechanical pencil enthusiasts

The mechanics of the Kaweco Sport mechanical pencil come from Japan and are regarded as among the most reliable in the compact pocket pencil segment: the advance is play-free, the lead is securely guided, and the broad body acts as natural lead protection – after a short fall, the lead rarely breaks compared to slimmer bodies with tightly-toleranced guidance. If you work with 0.7 mm HB on lightly textured paper, you'll notice that the lead barely smudges under moderate pressure and erases well. For calligraphy sketches and lettering layouts, 0.7 mm works particularly well as an underdrawing tool, as the line is clear enough to remain visible even after overworking with ink.
