CARL Puncher GP-2630 for Kokuyo Binder System

The CARL GP-J2630-W is a two-piece hole punching tool specifically designed for the ring spacing of the Kokuyo Campus Binder System: 9.5 mm hole center spacing, 5.5 mm hole diameter – precisely the dimensions that no European standard hole punch matches. The system consists of a flat plastic positioning guide and a compact metal punch that is inserted into the grooves of the guide. Anyone who wants to prepare their own papers – Tomoe River Paper, smooth calendered writing paper, printed templates, or calligraphy practice sheets – to fit precisely into A4 30-ring or B5 26-ring binders cannot do without this tool. A5 20-ring binders are not supported.

Special Features

• Positioning guide with engraved format markings: The 333 mm wide guide spans the entire A4 length and bears markings for A4 and B5 directly engraved. The paper is aligned against the holding wall – no measuring, no marking, no alignment errors between first and last hole.
• 9.5 mm hole center spacing: This spacing is the Kokuyo standard and differs from the European 8 mm spacing and the American 3-hole system. Only with this dimension do the rings of a Campus Binder engage without play or friction.
• Hole diameter 5.5 mm, hole depth 6.35 mm: Both dimensions comply with Kokuyo tolerance ranges – the rings close cleanly without the paper edge tearing when turning pages.
• Up to 5 sheets per punch stroke: The metal punching mechanism produces clean, frayed-edge-free cut edges even when punching multiple layers simultaneously.
• Handle lock: The punch handle can be locked – locked height 41 mm – so the tool can be stored flat and space-savingly.
• Metal and plastic material combination: The punching mechanism is made of metal for permanently precise cutting edges; frame and guide made of stable plastic keep the overall weight low (guide 122 g, punch 215 g).

Application & Tips

• Punching procedure: Lift the white paper holder strip of the guide, insert paper, align the edge with the format and holding wall markings, fold the wall back – then insert the punch into the pre-punched grooves and press down evenly. One stroke is sufficient for all holes in the respective format.
• Punching Tomoe River Paper: The lightweight paper (52 g or 68 g) can easily be punched in up to 5 layers. The clean cutting edge of the metal punch is important here so that the thin material does not fray at the hole edge.
• Various paper qualities: Waterproof writing paper for fountain pen use, smooth printer paper for printed templates, or lightly textured paper in moderate weight – the tool handles different surface qualities as long as the total thickness per punch stroke remains appropriate.
• Integrating calligraphy pages: Self-written or designed sheets without Kokuyo punching can be prepared precisely with the GP-J2630-W and seamlessly sorted into existing Campus Binders.
• Check edge width for special formats: The hole depth of 6.35 mm (hole center to paper edge) is designed for standard formats. For narrow strips or unusual cuts, check the remaining edge width before punching to ensure the edge remains stable when turning pages.
• Note on A5: The guide does have an A5 marking, but the punch is structurally designed only for A4 (30 rings) and B5 (26 rings). This tool is not suitable for A5 in 20-ring format.
