The KAMI stationery paper notepad in handy A6 format brings together a specially developed 90 g/m² paper with eucalyptus fibre content and a cover made from Japanese Satogami paper. The slightly off-white surface accepts ink with nuanced colour — with clearly defined lines and no troublesome feathering. The pad is manufactured in Berlin.

Features

  • Stationery paper with eucalyptus fibres (90 g/m²): The eucalyptus content gives the paper a fine, lightly textured surface. Fountain pen inks flow evenly, and colour nuances — such as shading and sheening — come into their own.
  • Slightly off-white, highly opaque: The warm, broken white tone feels pleasantly restful on the desk. High opacity means writing on the front barely shows through on the back.
  • Blank and unlined: Full space for writing, sketches, diagrams or letters — without ruling lines that restrict your layout.
  • Fountain pen friendly: Wet writing instruments — broad nibs, stub nibs, calligraphy nibs — rarely bleed through to the back. For very wet inks, blotting paper as an underlay is recommended.
  • Sturdy cardboard spine: The stable cardboard backing gives the pad reliable support even when writing freehand — no bending when writing on your knee or on the move.
  • Cover in Japanese Satogami paper: The matt, lightly fibrous Satogami paper feels secure in your hand and is finished with a copper-coloured hot foil emboss — a warm accent that underscores the character of the pad.
  • Made in Germany: Manufactured in Berlin.

Use & Tips

  • Fountain pens and ink: The stationery paper shows ink characteristics like shading, sheening and colour depth particularly clearly. Ideal for all nibs — from fine to broad.
  • Calligraphy: Stub nibs and calligraphy nibs glide smoothly across the 90 g/m² surface without sinking into the fibre. The clearly defined line benefits from clean stroke definition.
  • Sketches and drawings: Pencil, fineliner and opaque marker — the paper handles all writing instruments without smudging or tearing.
  • Correspondence: The A6 format is perfect for short notes, covering letters and handwritten cards — the sturdy cardboard spine allows comfortable writing without an underlay.
  • On the go: Pocket and jacket-friendly thanks to its compact A6 format (105 × 148 mm) — the cardboard spine protects the pages from creasing even when carried in a bag.
  • Tip for very wet inks: A sheet of blotting paper between pages prevents impressions on the next page — particularly relevant with free-flowing inks and broad nibs.

For Paper Enthusiasts

KAMI developed this stationery paper specifically for ink: the eucalyptus content in the fibre blend creates an even, lightly textured surface that binds colour pigments well. The result is pronounced shading with varying nib pressure and — with sheening inks — a visible sheen effect at the ink edges. At 90 g/m², the paper is heavy enough to remain stable even with wet writing instruments, whilst remaining pleasantly smooth for fountain pen use. The Satogami cover consists of traditional Japanese kraft paper with an irregular fibre structure — robust, tactile and deliberately unpolished.
