Hobonichi x Kodomo no Kao Pochitto6 Push-Button Stamp (Moomin)
The Pochitto6 by Kodomo no Kao, developed in collaboration with Hobonichi, is a self-inking push-button stamp featuring six Moomin motifs housed in a single slim casing. No stamp pad, no switching required – simply position, press, and done. The six motifs showcase characters and symbols from Tove Jansson's Moomin universe, each in its own colour. Compact enough for any pencil case or Techo pouch with a zip pocket.
Features
- Self-inking, push-button operated: The ink is already integrated into the stamp. Position the stamp, press the button – a clear, vibrant impression appears with a single click, no re-inking required.
- 6 Moomin motifs in one casing: Moomintroll, Snufkin, Moominmamma's handbag and other characters and motifs – one stamp each, one colour each, all unified in a sleek unit.
- 5.5 mm stamp size: The tiny format fits perfectly into the tight grids of monthly calendars and daily pages in the Hobonichi Techo without obscuring surrounding entries.
- Six different ink colours: Each motif prints in its own colour. Since the ink doesn't smudge, motifs can also be stamped on top of each other and colour layers combined – perfect for collaging directly in your planner.
- Compact rod format: All six designs sit in a single slim casing (polystyrene body) that fits effortlessly into zip pockets or pen cases.
Use & Tips
- Structuring monthly calendars: With a 5.5 mm impression diameter, individual days in the monthly grid can be marked – Moomintroll for tasks, Snufkin for outings, Moominmamma's handbag for shopping days.
- Accenting daily pages: On the lined or dotted daily pages of a Hobonichi, the small Moomin icons serve as gentle navigation aids or decorative mood-setters at the page margin.
- Layering colours: Since the ink doesn't bleed into itself, multiple stamps can be pressed directly on top of each other – for deliberate colour combinations or simple double markings.
- Stamping on the go: The rod format can be held like a pen. No separate stamp pad needed – the stamp is ready to use immediately, even when travelling or at a café.
- Combining with other Moomin accessories: The Pochitto6 pairs aesthetically with the rest of the Moomin Hobonichi collection (stencil, graph notebook, ink-absorbing paper) for a cohesive look in your Techo.
For Planner Enthusiasts
Kodomo no Kao is the Japanese manufacturer behind the Pochitto6 mechanism – a company specialising in stamp systems for everyday use. The push-button construction with integrated ink pad is designed for consistent impressions: the stamp meets the paper flat and controlled, without the lateral tilting that happens with traditional stamps lacking guidance. This is particularly relevant on thin paper like Tomoe River, which is sensitive to uneven pressure. The six stamp colours are coordinated with each other and were specially chosen for the Moomin motif set – which character gets which colour follows the character's personality, not chance.
