Hobonichi Pocket Planner 2027 Weeks MEGA Colors: Canaria Yellow (engl.)

The Hobonichi Techo 2027 Weeks MEGA Colors: Canaria Yellow is a compact weekly planner in a sleek portrait format – roughly the size of a long wallet – with warm, sunny yellow on a cover made of fine book-cloth. The year 2027 is embossed in matte white, creating a calm counterpoint to the rich colour. Inside, the planner uses Tomoe River Paper: thin, lightweight and ink-resistant, with a surface that feels exceptionally smooth under the nib. As a MEGA edition, it includes roughly three times as many millimetre-grid note pages as the standard Weeks.

Features

• Canaria Yellow: Warm, vibrant sun yellow on a book-cloth cover – the surface is finely woven, velvety-smooth and feels sturdy in hand. Year 2027 embossed in matte white.
• MEGA page count: The English edition contains 219 pages of millimetre grid paper in the notes section at the back – roughly three times as much as the standard Weeks. Plenty of space to write, paste, sketch without worrying about running out of pages.
• Tomoe River Paper: Hobonichi's in-house paper is exceptionally ink-friendly – fountain pens, fine-tip pens and gel pens glide smoothly over the smooth surface without tearing or bleeding through. Not archival-quality.
• Stitch-binding: The spine is sewn, not glued. The binding allows the book to lie almost completely flat – both sides of a spread are easily accessible and writable.
• Weekly layout: Left page shows the weekly calendar (Monday–Sunday with daily lines), right page is blank millimetre grid paper. The grid is printed in light grey and discreetly – visible enough for alignment, subtle enough not to interfere.
• Two bookmarks with geometric charms (triangle and square) for marking weekly and monthly layouts simultaneously.
• Clear corner pocket (included): Self-adhesive, suitable for notes, sticker sheets or loose memos. Can be attached inside on the front or back endpaper.
• Year index and monthly calendar for forward planning, plus a three-year overview 2025–2027 at a glance.

Use & Tips

• Fountain pens and fine-tip pens: Tomoe River Paper is optimised for fountain pen ink. Fine and medium nibs produce sharp lines without feathering. Stub nibs show beautiful shading effects on the smooth surface. Quick-drying or water-based inks dry quickly; oily or very wet writing behaviour can cause slight show-through (no bleeding, but ghosting is possible).
• Weekly page as a dual layout: The left page works well for appointment blocks and schedules, the right millimetre page for priority lists, mind maps or daily notes – a classic "Weekly + Notes" approach that works without preset structure.
• Note block at the back: The 219 millimetre-grid pages of the English edition can be used as a standalone notebook: bullet journal spreads, sketches, travel notes, vocabulary or addresses. The paper also handles highlighter pens and light watercolours well.
• Stickers and washi tape: Stickers adhere well to the smooth Tomoe River Paper. Washi tape can be removed cleanly as long as the tape hasn't been in place too long.
• Cover system: The Weeks MEGA fits into compatible Weeks covers (sold separately in the LUIBAN range), allowing you to mix colour and protection individually.
• Serial number: Each copy bears a unique serial number on the inside back cover.

For Planner Enthusiasts

The book-cloth used in the Colors series is a textile mill fabric specially woven for this purpose – fine enough to create a smooth feel, but with sufficient structure to resist impressions and scratches. Tomoe River Paper (52 g/m²) is tear-resistant despite its thinness and reacts to water-based ink application significantly more slowly than ordinary thin-paper; the ghosting that many know about remains variable depending on ink colour and saturation. The English edition of the Weeks MEGA contains 4 additional note pages compared to the Japanese version (219 instead of 215) and starts with Monday in the weekly column. The grid measures 3.55 mm – smaller than the typical 5 mm square, allowing for closer writing and more precise layout.
