The Hobonichi Pocket Planner 2027 Weeks Bow & Tie: Candy Dream comes in a slim portrait format – as narrow as a long wallet, so handy that it fits into any jacket or handbag pocket. The cover material of the Bow & Tie series is the same smooth, slightly glossy polyester fabric used for ties: silky-cool to the touch, with a subtle shimmer that makes the Candy Dream motif appear particularly luminous. Inside, the planner uses cream-colored Tomoe River paper – thin, light, and exceptionally ink-resistant. The 3.55 mm dot grid made of dashed lines stays visually subdued, giving handwriting, stamps, or small sketches the foreground.

Application & Tips

• Fountain pens and wet inks: Tomoe River paper is ideal for fountain pen users – the surface lets ink soak in slowly, making sheening and shading clearly visible. A blotting paper between pages prevents smudging when flipping quickly.
• Fineliners and gel pens: Fine tips (0.3–0.5 mm) glide across the smooth paper without scratching. Fast-drying gel refills or oil-based ballpoint refills reduce the longer drying time on the smooth surface.

The 3.55 mm grid made of dashed lines is intentionally smaller than the 3.7 mm grid of other Hobonichi formats – the slightly tighter spacing is suitable for smaller handwriting and more compact layouts. The Bow & Tie polyester cover is also more form-stable than coated cardboard: it doesn't wrinkle and retains its structure even when the planner is transported loosely in a bag.
