Hobonichi Cover Only is Not Lonely: Lilac (A6)
The "Only is Not Lonely" cover for the Hobonichi Techo in A6 format is a sleek, lightweight artificial leather case in delicate lilac. The front cover features the Hobonichi motto "Only is not Lonely" in foil stamping – a phrase that has served as the guiding principle since the founding of Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun in 1998. The cover is deliberately minimalist in design: no interior pockets, no butterfly closure – just the essentials, compact and ready for every day.
Features
- Artificial leather (PU) in lilac – a soft, cool colour that ages beautifully with daily use and develops character marks subtly
- Foil-stamped "Only is not Lonely" on the front cover – the motto from Hobonichi's founding era, embossed rather than printed; the print may change with intensive use over time
- Elastic band closure keeps the Techo securely closed; the band colour is coordinated with the lilac tone
- Pen holder hook on the case – holds a pen by the clip, so it works best with pens that have a robust clip (e.g. slim fountain pens or ballpoints in standard clip format)
- No interior pockets, no butterfly closure – sleek profile that keeps the A6 Techo as compact as possible
- Each cover is handcrafted – minimal variations in appearance and feel are manufacturing-related and characteristic
Use & Tips
- Compatible with Hobonichi Techo Original (A6) and Hobonichi Techo Planner (A6) – the inner book is sold separately and not included
- Spine thickness up to approx. 1.27 cm (0.5 inches) fits comfortably; thicker books fit more snugly – if you equip your Techo with many inserts or cards, keep this in mind
- For pens on the hook, models with a firm clip are suitable – slim ballpoints or compact travel-format fountain pens work particularly well here
- The minimalist interior structure makes this cover the right choice for anyone who wants to carry their Techo within easy reach and without extra bulk – no additional volume from pockets or supports
- Lilac as a colour harmonises beautifully in daily use with cream or lavender-coloured inks on the Tomoe River paper of the Techo's inner book – a subtle, cohesive overall look
For Hobonichi Enthusiasts
The "Only is Not Lonely" series draws on a founding principle of Hobonichi: what is written in a Techo is unique and singular – from exactly this person, in exactly this moment. The foil stamping on PU artificial leather is not a classic screen print, but a hot stamping process that creates a slightly textured surface. This means: the imprint is tactile, but reacts more sensitively to friction with intensive use than deeply embossed leather. The cover is not compatible with the Hobonichi Cover on Cover.
