Carta Pura Writing Pad A4 pink
The Carta Pura Writing Pad in Pink comprises 50 sheets of Salzer Werkdruck 100g – a wood-free, uncoated book paper with a matte, gently voluminous surface. The 2 mm thick grey board backing gives the pad a characteristically sturdy stance that holds firm right through to the last sheet. Manufactured in Germany, in the Munich region and Baden-Württemberg, in deliberately calculated print runs.
Features
- Salzer Werkdruck 100g – uncoated and matte: This wood-free book paper from the Austrian Salzer paper mill has a machine-smooth, unfilled surface. Ink flows in evenly without feathering – fountain pens, liquid rollers and fibre-tip pens all perform equally well. The paper's high volume gives every sheet a pleasingly substantial feel despite its 100g weight.
- Acid-free and archival: With no lignin content, Salzer Werkdruck will not yellow even after years. Handwritten notes, correspondence and sketches remain permanently legible.
- 2 mm grey board backing: An unusually robust backing board that keeps the pad stable in your hand even without a desk – a level, firm writing surface right through to the very last sheet. No flexing, no give.
- Pink colour: A clear, warm rose with real presence – the coloured cover board makes the pad instantly recognisable on your desk and pleasant to hold.
- Glued binding: Sheets tear away cleanly and individually, leaving no residue on the torn edge.
Use & Tips
- Fountain pens and liquid rollers: The matte, uncoated surface accepts ink reliably without it sitting on the surface. Broad nibs, stub nibs and wet-writing pens all flow as smoothly as fine points.
- Letters and correspondence: At 100g, and with the lightly creamy paper tone of Werkdruck, letters have a calm, pleasant appearance. Combined with the pink cover sheet, it creates a harmonious set for personal correspondence.
- Desktop notepad: The sturdy backing board allows you to write standing up, at a table edge or on your lap – perfect for meetings, phone calls and spontaneous sketches.
- Writing on both sides: The opacity typical of Werkdruck paper at 100g allows both sides to be written on without ink showing through heavily – particularly relevant with fountain pens and liquid rollers.
For Paper Enthusiasts
Salzer Werkdruck comes from the paper mill in St. Pölten (Lower Austria), which has been producing since 1798 – originally developed for book printing, today one of Europe's best-known voluminous book paper grades. The unfilled, uncalendered surface makes it one of the few papers that neither smudges nor dries too hard with fountain pen ink: the fibres absorb the ink without pulling it through. For calligraphers, this means controlled stub nib performance even with heavily pigmented or very fluid inks.
